THE WASHINGTON CENTER

CAPITAL CONNECTIONS

While William & Mary is located in America’s colonial capital, it has a strong presence in the country’s current-day capital, offering students of all disciplines internship, learning and networking opportunities that can be found nowhere else.

William & Mary students are immersed in the political, business and cultural life of the District through the Washington Center and the academic programs it offers. Including both coursework and internships, the program gives students the chance to live and learn in the District while building invaluable professional networks.

Students clearly benefit from the real-world experience and connections they establish through the center with government, business, media, nonprofits and NGOs. But there are advantages too for participating alumni, who keep fresh their deep, lifelong connections to alma mater and enliven their workplaces with the energy that only William & Mary students can provide.

As if that’s not enough, the center also puts students in touch with experts and prominent Washington, D.C., figures through additional winter and spring break seminars and its D.C. Spotlight Series. All of this expands the career opportunities for William & Mary students and makes sure they stay close to the action in the nation’s capital.
