BOLD.
It’s who we are, what we do and the way we give. It’s the impact we are making on William & Mary. Our For the Bold campaign is bold for one reason: our people. They are why William & Mary remains the gold standard for educational excellence and for engagement and giving. And why 2018 was such a stellar year in philanthropy:
- W&M surpassed $800 million in the $1 billion For the Bold campaign
- One Tribe One Day broke giving records with 12,770 donors in a day
- $10 million gift launched Center for Online Learning at the business school
- Society of 1918 raised $2.65 million to support W&M alumnae
- Gifts funded the $2.4 million Tribe Field Hockey Center
- $1.5 million gift to establish the President’s Strategic Investment Fund
- Carroll F. S. Hardy honored with namesake scholarship
- $1M scholarships gift to help active duty or veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces at the business school
With a little more than a year left in our For the Bold campaign, it is vital that we continue to build upon the momentum that has enabled us to achieve our remarkable success. We should all feel a great sense of pride about what we have accomplished, knowing that we have impacted so many in the William & Mary community. From scholarships, faculty support, collaborative research and initiatives that prepare our students for a rapidly evolving world, the university is thriving because of the generosity of our donors.”
— Sue Hanna Gerdelman ’76, chair of For the Bold, Board of Visitors secretary
